Falcao or Diogo? Gervinho alerts Wenger

Posted in Uncategorized on July 12, 2008 by jbayzode

Either Columbian hotshot Radamel Falcao or Brazilian whizz kid Diogo Luis Santo are set for summer moves to the Emirates Stadium with the striker to be loaned out to Salamanca after it was confirmed yesterday Salamanca would take three of Arsenals players on loan with being a non E.U player.

After Young Guns confirmed yesterday a non E.U would be signed next week many people turned their attention to River Plate hitman Radamel Falcao and Diogo Luis Santo but which one will it be?

Falcao officially made an agreement to Arsenal as he said if River Plate and Arsenal could agree a deal he would happily move across to the Emirates.

Meanwhile, Diogo also confirmed it would be a dream to move to Arsenal, but as Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger looks to have been out bidded by an Italian club, reports suggest it will be Falcao.

Radamel Falcao told The Sun:

“I know there is interest from Arsenal and that excites me.

“If there is an agreement between the clubs I am ready to go. It would mean a huge leap forward in my career.”

Falcao is reportedly set to move to the Gunners on a deal worth £8million pounds beating competition of clubs such as Villareal and Sevilla.

Ivorian International Gervinho is angling for a move to the Emirates Stadium after he said his ambition is to complete a move to Arsenal this summer alerting Arsenal to make a move.

Le Mans forward Gervinho has set his career ambition at securing a move to Arsenal.

The 21-year-old Ivory Coast international joined Le Mans from Beveren last season and earned rave reviews despite scoring just twice in 26 appearances.

Gervinho is under contract until 2010 but admitted he would jump at the chance to leave for the Emirates Stadium.

“Arsenal is the club that makes me dream,” Gervinho said. ”To join Arsenal would be the happiest day of my life.

“I love the way they play the game, with young players and the coach gives them the opportunity to display their talent to the full.

“In a major European club it is an exception to see a coach who relies mainly on young players and has full confidence in them.”

With Falcao expecting to join next week but be immediatly loaned to UD Salamanca Gervinho would make the complete way for Adebayors move to AC Milan which invovle’s young playmaker Yoan Gourcuff.

Samir Nasri completes Arsenal move

After a month of fine tuning the 21-year-old Nasri’s contract, finally the young Frenchman can complete his move to Arsenal from Olympique Marseille.

The switch had appeared inevitable since the beginning of June, when Nasri even suggested that his London transfer could be completed before the start of Euro2008.

Having barely been given an opportunity to shine in that competition as France struggled, the creative midfielder player then had a brief break before once again starting negotiations with Arsenal. Despite the lag, there was never any suggestion that the move would be cancelled.

New manager Arsène Wenger was quick to outline Nasri’s strengths telling Arsenal’s official website that, “He is young, quick and technically an outstanding player.”

Nasri should fit into the Gunners’ system seamlessly as his passing and vision are superb while he is also a gifted dribbler.

“He has shown great potential with his performances for Marseille and the French national team over the past two seasons and he will add great quality to our squad,” Wenger eulogised.

The move seems a perfect match as Wenger has an outstanding track record of maximising technically gifted players’ talents. Doubtless Nasri recognised this when agreeing the move.

“I’m very happy to become an Arsenal player, it means such a lot to me,” the 12 times capped Frenchman told the Gunners’ website, “This is a very important step in my life as a football player because Arsenal is a massive club. I really hope everything will go well for me here. I will my best for Arsenal and its fans and I am honoured to be part of such a great football club.”

Nasri will join his new team-mates for their pre-season tour of Austria, which begins in ten days time.

No fee has been disclosed for the move but it is believed to be in the region of £11.5 million, or €14 million.

News Round Up: Transfer Gossip and Pre-Season

ARSENE WENGER is leading the chase for Colombian scoring sensation Falcao.

The Arsenal boss is desperate to sign the striker with Emmanuel Adebayor’s uncertain future at the Emirates and Eduardo’s broken leg.

Falcao, 22, scored 38 goals in 58 games for River Plate.

He has terrific pace and is able to finish with either foot.

Wenger is lining up an £8million bid but the Argentines value him closer to £12m.

Arsenal’s interest is sure to annoy Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson.

Arsenal are set to finally capture AC Milan mifielder Yoan Gourcuff after the two clubs agreed to give the Midfielder as part of the €30million Adebayor deal.

The proposed move of Adebayor to Milan has become one of the main transfer sagas of the summer. Yesterday the Rossoneri claimed to have received a letter from Arsenal saying that the Gunners were now prepared to discuss a deal for the Togo striker.

This was later followed by a statement from the Arsenal chairman, Peter Hill-Wood, insisting that the Londoners were hoping to keep Adebayor.

Despite Hill-Wood’s assertions, the Italian press strongly believes that the 24-year-old will indeed be joining Milan, and the latest claims are that the clubs have come to an agreement over a transfer fee.

The Rossoneri will pay €30m in cash, and will also throw in €8m rated France Under-21 international Yoann Gourcuff as part of the deal.

Gourcuff joined Milan in 2006, and was regarded as one of the best young talents in the whole of the Europe. However, the 22-year-old has failed to impress, and indeed has already been loaned out to Bordeaux for next season.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is a huge admirer of the attacking midfielder, and it seems the inclusion of Gourcuff in the deal has swayed him to accept Milan’s offer.

Gourcuff will not arrive at the Emirates Stadium until his loan spell at Bordeaux ends in June 2009, but Adebyaor will immediately move to San Siro.

Milan general manager Adriano Galliani is said to be hopeful of completing the transfer by next Wednesday (July 16).

Samir Nasri is expected to officiallly complete his move to Emirates Stadium tommorow afternoon.

The Samir Nasri saga will be ended tommorow as the winger is in London at the moment and is to sign a four year contract in the aafternoon.

Zhirkov told Sport Express:

Reports suggest CSKA are prepared to sell their star for offers from €9million (£7.9million), but this is yet to be confirmed.
